The term "having work done" does not cross over into non invasive and minimally invasive treatments, we have come to realize that is the biggest news that is either shared or unshared, which can be misleading to those of us who aren't privvy to all of the "insider" information within the Aesthetic Rejuvenation industry.
The latest and greatest nonsurgical minimally invasive treatments have given us the opportunity to push off a facelift surgery and still obtain satisfactory results, however, nothing can match a facelift in its ability to return the basic architecture of the human face to its more youthful appearance.
If you’ve exhausted any and all less invasive treatments such as peels, toxins (Botox, Xeomin, Dysport), fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, Voluma, Vollure, Volbella, Radiesse, BellaFill), laser, microneedling, PRP, thread lift, radiofrequency (to name a few) or are not interested in any of these treatments then a more permanent solution may be right up your bowling alley. Common signs that you may be a candidate for a facelift include facial wasting/ loss of facial fat, skin laxity, wrinkles, and/ or descent of muscle tissue. Most common concerns are sagging skin, jowling, deep folds around the mouth and tired looking eyes.
A facelift is a surgical procedure to restore a more youthful appearance of the face. The benefits of this procedure are aimed to reduce wrinkles, improve skin laxity in the cheeks, jawline and other changes of the aging face.
There are stigmas associated with facelifts such as, the wind-blown look, pixie ears, visible scars, altered appearance etc. and these are common concerns you should discuss with your board-certified plastic surgeon (Dr. Capuano is double boarded!) so he may customize your surgical plan.
Many woman and men have had a facelift and you may not know it because the result is a rested, natural, youthful restoration of one’s younger self. Keep in mind the ones that you do notice, are to their aesthetic, and you may be interested in a subtler result which is also achievable. There are 6 different styles of a facelift; not one facelift fits all. And I’m sure you’re wondering which one is right for you…. So, call (201)820-5280 to schedule your consultation with Dr. Capuano to discuss your aesthetic needs.
Don’t be fooled by others in addition to the information above other important information for you to be keenly aware with any more agressive treatment or surgery. You are at higher risk for complications if you smoke (including recreational and edibles) or have high blood pressure. It is important to discuss with your doctor all of your medical history so that you may have the safest surgery and the best outcome possible. While you are a higher risk you are still a candidate for facelift surgery.
