MicroNeedling

Automated MicroNeedling: Microneedling is a procedure, which uses an automated microscopic needle to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin, that results in production of collagen and elastin and improvement of wrinkles and acne scars during your skin’s natural repair process.  Our microneedling treatment in NJ creates thousands of microscopic channels that can be used to allow delivery of topical medications such as hydroquinone gel or retinol to the deep layers of the dermis to treat skin pigmentation problems like melasma.  Automated Microneedling is excellent for our patients, in NJ and worldwide, with melasma because it causes remodeling and delivery of medication without heating or causing inflammation, which are both known to cause melasma to flare.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the microneedling NJ procedure performed in your NJ offices?

When you arrive at our NJ offices for your microneedling nj procedure, a potent topical anesthetic cream is placed on your face.  A sterile needle-tip containing 12 tiny micro-needles is attached to the Eclipse MicroPen™.  A thin layer of topical gel is then applied to your skin and then the micro pen is gently pressed against your skin while simultaneously gliding until the entire treatment area has been covered. This part of the microneedling process creates thousands of superficial microscopic channels  throughout the entire microneedling nj treatment area. The microneedling nj procedure takes about 45 minutes including the time for numbing within the NJ office.

Can I get microneedling while on antibiotics?

Typically antibiotics in and of themselves are not a contraindication to having a microneedling treatment.  The important question is why are you on the antibiotic?  If the antibiotic was prescribed to treat an active skin infection, you should wait until that infection completely resolves and consult with your physician before undergoing any elective microneedling treatment.  Additionally, I defer microneedling treatments if patients present with active upper respiratory tract infection or sinus infection until they are resolved.  I hope this helps.
